Summer Days and Sunscreen

Tank tops and flip-flops come with summer days and sun rays! Though we all feel better getting the increased vitamin D, we need to make sure that we are protecting the largest organ of the body: The SKIN!

Making sure that you are choosing a good sunscreen with SPF greater than 15 is important. It's also vital to reapply your sunscreen regularly!

The key to keeping your skin safe and reducing your potential for sunburn and skin cancer is to reapply sunscreen every 1.5 to 2 hours. If you're on the water, you should reapply as the directions on the sunscreen state. For even more protection, you should attempt to cover as much of the skin if possible and wear a hat to protect the skin on your face. If you're able, avoid being in the sun from 10 am to 2 pm when the sun is at its brightest.

Don’t forget to apply to areas that are commonly exposed but frequently forgotten: ears, face, and feet!

We at QuickVisit are here to serve all your needs, including evaluation in the event that you do get a sunburn or other issues that may arise during these fun-filled days this summer!

Contact your local QuickVisit Urgent Care Clinic or visit our website at www.quickvisiturgentcare.com to register for your visit! We are open 7 days a week! No appointment is needed!

Have fun, be safe and protect your skin!
